On May 22, 2025, something extraordinary happened right in my own backyard in Steinbach, Manitoba—a sight so rare that I had to do a double take.
Perched among the branches, with its vibrant red feathers lit up in the soft morning light, was a Northern Cardinal—a bird almost never seen in this part of Canada.

To showcase the final product professionally, I printed the photo on high-quality paper and then set out to build a custom frame by hand. The entire process took place right in my backyard using my DEWALT miter saw, corner clamps, and classic wood joinery tools.
